Cortina Peters holds both a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Peters is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator, Certified Life Coach, Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of Florida, Certified HIV Counselor, and the founder and chair of Wings of a Rainbow (a nonprofit organization that helps those affected by cancer).
Ms. Peters started her career in the field of sexual health education over 15 years ago. Some of the past employers include (CAP) The comprehensive Aids Program and Planned Parenthood of South Florida. Until recently, before taking another position, Ms. Peters was the Director of Training and Clinical Operations for 3rd Step Wellness Group, Inc. an agency that serves the community by providing behavioral health and medical services to individuals in need. Ms. Peters is currently the Regional Director for Memory Training Centers of America, a national organization that helps individuals with mild to moderate memory loss. Ms. Peters oversees the entire Florida division. She is also an adjunct Professor at South University teaching in the Undergrad Psychology Department teaching courses such as Human sexuality and Gender Psychology. Ms. Peters was a featured speaker for the 2012 regional convention for women living with HIV which was hosted by Gilead Sciences, a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need.
Empowering individuals to become and be better individuals is a passion of Ms. Peters. This passion was the spring board that caused her to launch “Boundless Living”. The Birth of Boundless Living is Ms. Peter’s way of encouraging and empowering women, children, and men to live life without being chained by life, situations, regrets, and or people. Ms. Peter’s first book, titled “Living Life Boundlessly”, is scheduled to be available fall of 2014.
