Practice Friendly Supervision


This workshop is an intensive, individualized training geared toward making supervision a safe and growth-filled experience for supervisors and supervisees.  The two-day (16 hour) training is interactive and process-oriented, utilizing role-plays to explore the dynamics of supervising a myriad of typical and difficult supervisee situations.  Participants are expected to actively participate in all training experiences.  This course meets the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY and Mental Health Counseling requirements for becoming a Qualified Supervisor.  

Participants will receive a CEU Certificate of completion if he/she:

  • Participates in discussions of supervision issues and concerns
  • Role-plays with one another and/or the trainers as a means of internalizing the intellectual content
  • Becomes familiar with models of supervision
  • Gains skills to develop a personal model of supervision
  • Understands the co-evolving relationship dynamics between therapist-client and supervisor-therapist-client
  • Addresses contextual variables such as culture, gender, ethnicity, power and economics
  • Becomes familiar with ethical, legal and regulatory issues of supervision
  • Understands the role of evaluation in supervision
